House style

1. Every sentence is meant. The periodical does not wink.
2. The mathematics is right. When a figure is approximate, say by how much.
3. Pie is treated with the same care as π.
4. No reader is described. Write for someone who will pass it on without a synopsis.
5. Write like a host, not a lecturer. Every issue leaves uses: something for the hand, the table, the work, and the mind.
6. A figure is an instrument, not an illustration. It should be worth moving.
